Day 1: Leave Kigali for Bwindi after Kigali city expedition

Wake up early in the morning to have a leisurely breakfast. After, leave the hotel for Kigali city tour that takes you through exploration in different historical/cultural sites in Kigali capital city. These include Kigali/Gisozi genocide centre, local markets and others then have a lunch break. Later, cross to Bwindi via Katuna/Chanika border through Kabale/Kisoro Town. This will be a journey of about 3-4 hours’ drive in a 4×4 drive car. Check in at the lodge around Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and drive back to Kigali

After a hefty breakfast early in the morning, ensure that you have reported to Bwindi offices for briefing on dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. Also, make sure you go with some snacks and bottled water since the trek to see gorillas requires some level of physical wellness.

At 8:00am, leave the briefing point at Bwindi to start your gorilla trek particularly to look for the gorilla family assigned to you. Your group of 8 visitors will be accompanied by an armed park guide and it can take you 2-6 hours to have a complete trek. After locating where these apes are, expect to have one hour of face to face encounter, take photos and learn more about their daily behaviors.
